Abstract

The labor force in Kalimantan Tengah in February 2020 was 1,431.5 thousand people, an increase of 15.3 thousand compared to February 2019.

The working population is 1,382.9 thousand people, an increase of 13.9 thousand compared to February 2019.

The February 2020 Open Unemployment Rate is 3.39 percent, an increase of 0.06 points compared to February 2019.

The main jobs that absorb a lot of labor are in the Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries sector (35.93 percent), the Wholesale and Retail Trade sector, Car and Motorcycle Repair (15.95 percent), and Government Administration, Defense and Social Security ( 8.17 percent).

In February 2020, 49.30 percent of the population worked in formal activities and 50.70 percent in informal activities. During February 2019-February 2020, formal workers increased by 4 points.

There are 32.01 percent of the population working less than 35 hours a week. Of these workers, 6.44 percent are half the unemployed and 25.57 percent part time workers. In the past year, half the unemployed fell 0.26 points, while part-time workers rose 5.46 points.
