Abstract

The economy of Kalimantan Tengah in the first quarter of 2020 as measured by the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices reached Rp38,681.7 billion and on a constant basis in 2010 it reached Rp.25,453.3 billion.
  • The economy of Kalimantan Tengah in the first quarter of 2020 against the first quarter of 2019 (y-on-y) grew 2.95 percent. This is a slowdown in growth compared to the previous year (y-on-y) of 5.96 percent. From the production side, the highest growth was achieved by the Electricity and Gas Procurement Category, which grew 17.50 percent, while the Construction Category; Company Services; and Other Services experienced a contraction of 10.39 percent; 2.32 percent; and 2.46 percent. In terms of expenditure, the highest growth was achieved by the Household Consumption Expenditure Component (PK-RT) which grew by 5.11 percent. While the Export Component experienced a contraction.
  • Kalimantan Tengah's economy in the first quarter of 2020 against the fourth quarter of 2019 (q-to-q) contracted by 0.89 percent. From the production side, only seven categories are still able to grow positively. The highest growth was achieved by the Mining and Quarrying Category which grew 24.65 percent. While in terms of expenditure the highest growth was achieved by the Export of Goods and Services Component of 15.50 percent. Meanwhile, the LNPRT Consumption Expenditure Component, Government Consumption Expenditures (PK-PKP) and PMTB experienced a contraction.
  • Kalimantan's economic structure spatially in the first quarter of 2020 was still dominated by the Province of Kalimantan Timur at 49.94 percent. Kalimantan Tengah Province ranks fourth with a contribution of 11.79 percent.
