Kalimantan Tengah's Economy Quarter II-2023 Grows 2.96 Percent (Y-on-Y)

Abstract

Kalimantan Tengah's economy based on the size of the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices in the second quarter of 2023 reached IDR 51.0 trillion and at constant 2010 prices reached IDR 27.9 trillion.
  • Kalimantan Tengah's economy in quarter II-2023 compared to quarter II-2022 (y-on-y) grew by 2.96 percent. From the production side, the highest growth occurred in the Financial Services Business Field of 12.09 percent. Meanwhile, from the expenditure side, the highest growth occurred in the Component of Government Consumption Expenditure (PK-P) of 14.82 percent.
  • Kalimantan Tengah's economy in the second quarter of 2023 compared to the first quarter of 2023 (q-to-q) grew by 2.76 percent. From the production side, the highest growth was achieved by the Government Administration, Defense and Compulsory Social Security Business Fields of 48.09 percent. Meanwhile, from the expenditure side, the Government Consumption Expenditure Component (PK-P) experienced the highest growth of 44.67 percent.
  • The cumulative of Kalimantan Tengah's economy until the second quarter of 2023 compared to the cumulative growth of the second quarter of 2022 by 3.08 percent (c-to-c). From the production side, the Other Service Business Field experienced the highest growth of 10.98 percent. Meanwhile, from the expenditure side, the Government Consumption Expenditure Component (PK-P) experienced the highest growth of 9.26 percent.
  • Spatially, the economic structure of Kalimantan in the second quarter of 2023 is still dominated by Kalimantan Timur Province, with 47.14 percent. Growth in the second quarter of 2023 (y-on-y) occurred in all provinces in the Kalimantan region, the highest being is Kalimantan Timur Province with a (y-on-y) growth of 6.84 percent. Meanwhile, Kalimantan Tengah occupies the lowest position with a contribution of 12.04 percent.
